5:41 a.m., the harbor’s still grey, and three energy reporters already have your embargoed kit open.

Three ways to work with us — a press kit, a monthly outreach sprint, or the full 42-day launch — plus extras you can bolt onto any of them. Every rate is on this page, and every engagement is scoped in writing before the kickoff call.

The spec sheets

each service, page by page

What lands in your shared drive, when it lands and what it costs. Read these like the table of contents of the kit itself.

Service 01 · one-time

the press kit

$2,850

About 3 weeks · two rounds of edits · yours to reuse for every pitch after

scope my kit

The document a reporter opens before deciding whether to reply. If it answers their first five questions, they write back with the sixth — which is the one that becomes a story.

  1. p.01

    the release

Embargo-ready, around 450 words, with a headline written to be filed — not framed on the office wall.

  2. p.02

    founder bios

Three lengths: 25 words for a caption, 100 for a sidebar, one page for the profile writer.

  3. p.03

    the fact sheet

Every MWh, tCO₂e and $/kg in your deck, each one footnoted to the report, pilot log or LCA it came from.

  4. p.04

    the skeptic’s q&a

The ten questions a reporter’s outside scientist will ask about your chemistry — answered before anyone has to ask.

  5. p.05

    the tech, in plain english

One page explaining how it works to a smart generalist on the business desk. No acronyms left standing.

  6. p.06

    visuals shot list

We don’t shoot; we direct. A list of product, site and founder images your photographer can work straight from.

Good fit if
You’ve got a dated milestone in the next two months and nothing a journalist could open today.
Not yet if
The news is “we exist.” We’ll tell you so on the call and point you at the right moment to come back.

Service 02 · monthly

the outreach sprint

$4,650

Per four-week sprint · invoiced on the 1st · stop after any month

start a sprint

For the stretch between big announcements, when the sector keeps making headlines and your founder should be quoted in them. One sharp angle a month, worked hard.

  1. wk.1

    angle workshop

Ninety minutes with your founders to pick the one angle worth a reporter’s morning this month.

  2. wk.1

    the named list

25 to 40 reporters who’ve filed on your beat lately, assembled one byline at a time — every name with a reason it’s there.

  3. wk.2–3

    one-to-one pitches

Each email written for the person reading it, referencing what they’ve covered. Zero mail-merge fields.

  4. rolling

    reactive commentary

When federal tax-credit guidance drops or a rival raises, your founder’s take is in front of reporters the same day.

  5. fridays

    the debrief

Who bit, who passed, who said “not now, maybe Q1.” A short note every Friday, a longer one at month-end.

  6. wk.4

    next month’s angle

A shortlist of what to pitch next, drawn from what reporters told us they wanted more of.

Good fit if
You’re in a policy-heavy corner — storage, retrofits, SAF — where the news cycle hands you openings every month.
Not yet if
Your founder can’t give us two hours a week for calls and quotes. Reporters move faster than that.

Service 03 · per launch

the launch campaign

$11,900

42 days, kickoff to lift, plus a week of follow-through · half at kickoff, half at lift

map my launch

For the one date that matters this year — a product, a round, a first deployment. The full runway, timed backwards from the minute your embargo lifts.

  1. t–42

    kickoff

A 90-minute call to lock the date, the news and the one sentence we want every story to contain.

  2. t–42 → t–21

    the full kit

Everything in Service 01, included — built while the story is still taking shape.

  3. t–21 → t–1

    embargoed briefings

Trade titles first, national climate desks after, each call scheduled around the reporter’s deadline, not ours.

  4. t–7

    founder prep

A one-page brief on every reporter plus a mock interview before each real one. What they ask, what makes them roll their eyes.

  5. t–0

    launch-morning desk

On from 5:30 a.m. Eastern. Follow-ups answered inside the hour, misprinted figures corrected that morning.

  6. t+7

    second wave + report

First coverage turned into follow-on pitches, then a plain coverage report: what ran, where, and what to do with it.

Good fit if
You have a date in pencil six weeks out or more, and a number you can stand behind in front of a scientist.
Not yet if
Launch is next Tuesday. Book the launch-morning desk below instead, and the full runway for the next one.

À la carte

bolt-ons for any job, or on their own

Small, sharp pieces of work for founders who already have most of it handled — or who just need one thing done properly this week.

Where we draw the line

what you won’t find on our invoice

Climate reporters are some of the most skeptical people in media, and they remember who wasted their time. These rules are how we keep getting our emails opened — for you and for the next founder.

always on

  • An honest read on the first call — if the news isn’t news yet, you hear it then.
  • Every figure sourced before a reporter ever sees it.
  • Same-morning corrections when a number prints wrong.
  • A reporter’s off-the-record stays off the record. Always.
  • Your media list, notes and editable kit files handed over at the end.

never on

  • Paid placements or sponsored posts dressed up as coverage.
  • Wire blasts to thousands of inboxes that never asked.
  • Avoided-emissions claims we can’t trace to a methodology.
  • Coverage guarantees, or fees tied to “hits.”
  • Pitching your founder into a story they haven’t signed off on.

Before the scope goes out

the small print, set large

what if our launch date slips?
Hardware ships late; we plan for it. Move the date by up to 14 days and we re-sequence the briefings at no charge. Beyond that, re-booking embargoed calls is a flat $480.
can we bundle a launch with sprints?
Yes. Book a launch with two follow-on sprints at the same time and each sprint comes down to $4,180 — the momentum from launch week is the easiest pitching you’ll ever get.
do you pitch outside the US?
Our lists are US trade and national desks, plus UK and EU correspondents who cover American climate companies. Dedicated European campaigns are quoted separately.
who owns the kit and the list?
You do. At the end of any engagement you get the editable kit files and the reporter list with our notes on each name.
will you sign our NDA?
Before the kickoff call, happily. Unannounced chemistry, customer names, round sizes — it all stays on the desk at 984 Washington St.
what isn’t in the price?
Wire distribution (we rarely recommend it), photography, and travel beyond Greater Boston — billed at cost, and only with your sign-off first.

Counting backwards from t–0

send a date — even a pencilled one — and we’ll send back a runway.

Tell us what’s launching and roughly when. You’ll get a written scope with one of the prices above — or an honest “not yet” — within two weekdays.
